The waves here are inconsistent, but there is always something to ride.  And when the waves are good, they are really good, like been in Surfer Magazine good. 

​You'll also find articles in Windsufer Magazine, like this one. Kite surfing is the new big sport in Abreojos.  The winds are consistently offshore every afternoon which makes for spectacular kite surfing conditions.   (Note: This place is NOT for beginner kite surfers).

The best time is morning as the powerful wind comes up every afternoon.  There are beach and reef breaks, rights are dominant.  There are dozens of breaks within a few miles of the lodge.
